Trish Bertuzzi

Trish Bertuzzi is an inside sales thinker, writer, and builder. Since 1998, this Boston-based solutions provider has been a leader in developing inside sales strategies for some of the most prominent technology companies.

Steve Garfield

Steve Garfield is author of the book Get Seen: Online Video Secrets for Building your Business and is founder of Boston Media Makers.

Garfield works with and advises Fortune 500 brands such as AT&T, Kodak, Nokia, and Panasonic, and media outlets including CBS, NBC, and PBS.

Nationally featured on CNN, Garfield is the Boston correspondent for the pioneering video podcast "Rocketboom" and a longtime video blogging expert. He lectures on new media at Boston University, Northeastern University, and Emerson College. Garfield also serves as an advisor to many of the Web's early video startups.

Don McLagan

Since retiring as CEO at Compete Inc., Don has been writing down the ideas, images, feelings, and words rattling about in his head. He continues to be quite involved networking and mentoring some of the hot, young Internet companies in the Boston and MITX communities. His son, Christopher has started a company, McLagan Construction LLD, in which Don participates.

Don has been an innovator of business information services for more than forty years. He was the founder, Chairman, and CEO of NewsEdge Corporation (1988-2000). Previously, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Information Services Division of Lotus Development Corporation (1985-1988); he was a founding employee and Executive Vice President of Data Resources, Inc. (1969-1984); he started the Advanced Computer Techniques Group within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Comptroller (1967-69).

Don has both B.S. (1964) and B.S.M.E. (1965) degrees from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and an MBA from Harvard Business School (1967).

David Meerman Scott

David Meerman Scott is a marketing strategist, keynote speaker, seminar leader, and the author of The New Rules of Marketing & PR, an award-winning BusinessWeek bestseller published in 24 languages. He is also the author of the hit book World Wide Rave and three other books. His Web Ink Now blog is ranked by AdAge Power 150 as a top worldwide marketing blog.

He is a recovering VP of Marketing for two publicly traded technology companies and was also Asia Marketing Director for Knight-Ridder, one of the world's largest newspaper and electronic information companies at the time.

David has lived and worked in New York, Tokyo, Boston, and Hong Kong, and has presented at industry conferences and events in over twenty countries on four continents.

Mike Volpe

Mike Volpe is VP of Marketing at HubSpot, a marketing software company, where he leads the company's lead generation and branding strategy through inbound marketing and has helped grow HubSpot from 10 to over 3,900 customers. Under Mike's leadership, HubSpot's marketing has won more than 30 awards and been featured in over 20 marketing and business books.

Mike also co-hosts the weekly marketing podcast HubSpot TV, blogs frequently, and is very active in social media and as a marketing speaker.

Tim Washer

After working in corporate communications for years, Tim’s boss encouraged him to pursue a career in comedy, “or at least something other than corporate communications.” So in 1998, he began studying improv under Amy Poehler at the UCB Theater. Amy summed up Tim’s comedic talent: “He should consider a job in corporate communications.”

Comedy Central selected the short film series he wrote and produced for IBM, Art of the Sale as a “Staff Favorite,” which was cited in in January 2007 as the example of the “Jon Stewartizing” of corporate communications.

He has performed PowerPoint parodies at corporate events from Las Vegas to Sydney, and has been quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Chicago Sun-Times.

Tim has worked as a consultant at Accenture, an account executive at Xerox, as a vice president at Interpublic Group, and as executive producer and host of IBM’s series “The Future of…”

He holds an MBA from McCombs Graduate School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. He has also served a short stint for an unnamed employer in corporate communications.
